HarperCollins to Publish Official Memoir by Tim Tebow

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 8, 2010

HarperCollins announces today that it will publish THROUGH MY EYES, an inspirational memoir by one of the greatest college football quarterbacks of all time: the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, two-time national champion at the University of Florida and current Denver Broncos first round draft pick, Tim Tebow.

Tebows much publicized life is one of most inspirational stories in American sports. He captivated the country with his relentless will to succeed on the field and his passion for others. The memoir will reveal how this remarkable young man constantly strives to be the best, has always overcome the odds and how he has managed to do so while remaining true to his faith and family values.

Tebow, the son of Christian missionaries, has a unique story to tell. From the circumstances of his birth, to his home-schooled roots, to his record-setting career as the most celebrated football player in Florida Gators history and his first round draft selection by the Denver Broncos, there's been a lot said about Tim Tebow. Now he will have the chance to inspire readers with his own, first-hand account of his personal story.

I am extremely excited about the opportunity to share my story of faith, family and football, said Tebow, 'and look forward to taking readers inside my life, both on and off the field. As a kid, you always dream of becoming something great. Whether that dream is to become an astronaut, a famous musician, the CEO of a large company, the President, an NFL Quarterback or anything else, you will undoubtedly face all kinds of adversity on your journey. This is my story about how I was able to fulfill my dream and I hope it can inspire people of all ages that are aspiring to fulfill their dreams.

It goes without saying that Tim has inspired a generation of fans with his accomplishments on the football field as well as his devout faith and family values, said Lisa Sharkey, Senior Vice President and Director of Creative Development who acquired the book for HarperCollins. We are incredibly proud to help him communicate his powerful message of hope, said S.V.P. and Publisher of HarperOne, Mark Tauber. Tebows story is one that will find a wide audience for years to come.

The book will be edited by Senior Editor Matt Harper and co-written with Nathan Whitaker, who worked alongside former NFL player and coach Tony Dungy on his three New York Times Bestsellers. Tebow's memoir is set to be published by HarperCollins in April 2011. The deal was negotiated by Robby Tebow and Angel Gonzalez of XV Enterprises, Greg Suess of Roar, and Matt Johnson and Wendy Kirk of Ziffren Brittenham LLP.

The American Statistical Association (ASA) and international publisher Taylor & Francis Group are pleased to announce that Taylor & Francis will publish CHANCE in full color on behalf of the ASA beginning in 2012. CHANCE is the ASAs quarterly magazine that brings statistics to everyday life.

Not a technical magazine, but rather a cultural record of the evolving field of statistics, CHANCE entertains and informs. It features easy-to-digest articles that showcase how statistical methods and ideas in the social, biological, physical, and medical sciences can be engaging, fun, and enlightening.

Since its creation in 1988, CHANCE has covered such topics as expert witnesses and the courts, teacher evaluations and student grades, the statistical history of the AIDS epidemic, election night predictions, racial profiling, counter-terrorism, and the hot hand in ice hockey.

Executive Editor Sam Behseta intends to continue serving the CHANCE audience by publishing highly engaging statistical articles with minimal use of equations and technical jargon. The magazine, said Behseta, soon will offer book reviews and exciting columns about ethics in statistics, statistical data privacy, and statistics education and pedagogy.

On behalf of Taylor and Francis, Kevin Bradley, president, U.S. Journals, commented that We are proud to add CHANCE to the T&F family of publications, and I look forward to seeing the magazines expansion. We are pleased to be partnering with the ASA to bring CHANCE and the ASA journals to a broader and more international audience. The http://www.tandfonline.com platform will serve the ASA and the scientific community well and we are grateful that the ASA has placed their confidence in us.
